The last of the eight invading Thargoid titans in Elite Dangerous has been destroyed. This time I participated in the attacks on the titan with my Krait Mark 2 -- seen here when I witnessed the final explosion of the titan -- and I readily admit it was only due to a very juicy incentive. I earned a set of double engineered faster-than-light drives to help my ships travel farther, faster.
Since the detonation of Titan Cocijo the developer Frontier has stated that this is the end of the two year long war. Are the Thargoids permanently vanquished? Certainly not. There are still systems where you can cross paths with them.
This also sets the stage for a big new feature coming in 2025 -- colonization of new star systems and the expansion of human controlled space.
After a stellar year of new content and new events, including new game features and starships to enjoy I was happy to drop $60 to buy ARX currency to purchase a set of ruby-red ship skins for the 40th anniversary of the Elite franchise and this month Elite Dangerous reached the 10th anniversary of the current game. I've been playing Elite on and off across all 40 years and have also played Elite Dangerous during most of its 10 year run.
I'm excited to see what lies ahead in 2025.
